Turners Falls, MA March 24, 2010 – Judd Wire, a manufacturer of commercial and military electronic wire and cable, announced the UL approval of its Flexrad PV® family of solar cables.  Judd Wire’s Flexrad PV® is manufactured in the USA. Approved to UL Subject 4703 for interconnection of grounded and ungrounded photovoltaic power systems as described in Section 630.31 of the National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA 70.

Designed to meet the harsh environmental conditions typical of photovoltaic installations  Flexrad PV® product features include:

• Maximum Operating Voltage; 600 and 1000 VRMS
• Both available in 10-20 AWG
• Wide temperature ratings:
     • -40°C to 90°C (UL Certified)
     • -40°C to 170°C (Judd certified)
• Fully RoHS Compliant
• Irradiation Crosslinked Dual Wall Insulation:
     • Excellent abrasion resistance
     • Flame retardant
     • Resistance to water, UV radiation, ozone, weather and salt
• Optional high strand count conductors:
     • High flexibility and superior flex life
     • Compatible with all industry standard connectors
